Love Lusts Too – A poem

Lust and love…

I sometimes don’t even know the difference

When I can’t get you off my mind

Is it love I am feeling or lust

When all I want is to make love to you and hold you close to me

Is it still love I am feeling or lust

Or is it love only when you’re married and lust when you’re not?

The feelings sometimes feel same

Like love sure coexists with lust

Maybe that’s only true in marriage

But I see lust in true love many times

So much lust between partners for the object of their love

Not people they have a fling with, but people they truly love and will die for

Then I become confused and I conclude

Maybe love lusts too. Maybe it does!

  1. As we have blogged about, the term lust has been twisted and distorted as to its proper meaning over the centuries. Christ condemned lust in its true sense, which includes covetousness and can lead one to sexual sin. Lust is not actually a catch-all term for all things sexual. Mere sexual arousal and desire are not lust. Alas, there is so much confusion for Christians.

    1. Really so much confusion…I can’t doubt that 😂🙈.
      Great points you raised.
But have been wondering…is lust towards one’s own partner in marriage wrong, does that even exist or it’s all wrapped up in what seems like a better word/description “love”? 😊

  2. I so agree and also I feel that Uncontrollable and foreseen in modern day, this emotion is gaining a lot of weightage as people are revolving around it I’m talking about Lust of Life. The other ‘L’ orto further call it the sacred one is now being replaced and lust has taken over. Love is now a very rare phenomenon and only those who feel it with their heart and not with their bodies experience it.
My recent post is about lust and I feel that it will be great if it gets your inputs. Do drop in.
