THE CHOSEN

From many I chose you

‘Cos you were the most favourable amongst them

Your lovely character seduced me

And played tricks on my emotions

A part of me gets excited at thy graceful sight

An excitement that heightens

With every lovely thought of you

You are so amazing a figure

A blessing amongst all the Lord’s carvings

So beautiful a living monument

So sweet a manifestation

Of God’s gift of love to me

My heart craves strongly for thy love

And breaks whenever thy love

So rich and true

Is far from reach

Inside my emotions are stacked up

Like full old wineskins ready to burst

I have been looking for so long

And I bless the day I found you

‘Cos you brought light to my spirit

Oh how the light of my soul shone the brightest

The day you accepted as true, promising and trustworthy

Those carefully chosen and well rehearsed sugar-coated words

In your eyes I find the radiance of true love

Your lips are so blessed with soothing words

That puts my agitated spirit to a sweet sound rest

That reassures my soul of a hope

And a future not too far away

A life together and forever

A new woman

I was a distant admirer

My eyes liking what they saw

The beautiful personality of a simple lady

So simple in all respects

Circumspect in choice of friends

Godly in character and dressing

Her chasteness so alluringly satisfying to me

I wished I could get closer

To experience her Godly ambience

But these now are mere ruminations of the past

For a new woman now I see

A totally changed personality

Running down an ungodly road

The road of conscious self exposure

A new love found in garments so scanty and revealing

My eyes lost all admirations

Having suffered a thousand “negative externalities”

From her now ungodly self exhibitions

Casting off her “breastplate of righteousness”

And parading her nakedness

To the displeasure of God and Godly men

But the pleasure of worldly men

To some, a shame to womanhood

To others, a good display of woman empowerment

I wondered what went wrong

Get Off The Scale!

“You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.

It’s true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don’t give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!”

A beautiful quote from Steve Maraboli that has transformed the life of many and given many others inner peace. A good one I keep reading over and over again!

We’re all immeasurably awesome…just the way we are. Believe in yourself. Believe in the concept of you; not the concept of others.

Hope this blesses you!

Breasts Everywhere

Breasts are everywhere!

The breastfeeding mum’s fully exposed ones in public staring a man in the face does not seem to cause any problem. No rush of testosterone and those little adrenal cortex hormones at all! No complains!
But…A young lady’s half exposed ones staring a man in the face causes so much problem! Seest thou a man struggling to control his eyes and hormones at such a sight?

Hahaha…I’m not approving anything o. Not appending my signature to endorse indecent exposure in the name of contemporary trends in fashion o! I’m just thinking how to conclude this piece for my blog.

And I’m just so stuck trying to answer why a half naked breast of a young lady causes a (Christian) man to lust (sin) whiles a fully exposed one of a breastfeeding mum seems to not taint his holiness or stir up any hormones or lust. Or does it??

Maybe some breasts are more beautiful and enticing than others?
Maybe it’s a battle of the mind?

OK! I’m getting some answers…

CHANGED – A poem

I heard her soliloquies very clearly though softly spoken

The cool breeze of the cold night

Gently carried them to my sweet sharp listening ears,

But alas, they were words from a heavy heart:

“Why am I noticed by no one?

Why only one in a thousand appreciates me?

Why will none smile at me?

My countless smiles are treated with disdain.

Unlike the millions of them I meet each passing second,

Not even an ant takes a peek at my beautiful veiled form.

Perhaps they are of noble birth while I issued from a boil?

Perhaps the boil that left a big scar on mum’s right thigh?”

But then she observed more closely

And realized they gave out some personal valuables

To merit the admirations and all their seemingly sublime societal status

So like them her portion she began to give

And how renown she became just by the break of dawn

In publicizing her “privacies”

Heralding them in micromillimetre-size mini-apron attires

That set hearts of men ablaze like cast magical spells

Affections soon flowed like never drying springs

Oh what immeasurable joy engulfed her soul,

What sense of accomplishment and acceptance she felt

But little did she know that they were fleeting and frail

Oh dear daughter of Eve,

What comfort and assurance seeketh thou that He cannot offer

Is it not enough that perfect is His Grace that sealed you?

And free and changeless His favour to you?

Is it not assuring enough that thou art wonderfully and fearfully made?

Findeth thou no honour in thy body being His Holy Temple?

No security in having a helmet of salvation and a breastplate of righteousness?

Oh blessed daughter of Eve,

Look to the ancient path and forsake the fleeting fantasies of the world.
