Get Off The Scale!

“You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.

It’s true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don’t give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!”

A beautiful quote from Steve Maraboli that has transformed the life of many and given many others inner peace. A good one I keep reading over and over again!

We’re all immeasurably awesome…just the way we are. Believe in yourself. Believe in the concept of you; not the concept of others.

Hope this blesses you!

WILL YOU PROPOSE AGAIN? WILL YOU ACCEPT AGAIN?

Happy Valentine!

It’s the season of love!

Love is a good thing. Celebrate it!

But, just a quick thought…

If you are given the opportunity to propose love/marriage to the person you are with now, will you choose the same person? Or you would rather love/marry another? If he should propose again, will you accept again?

Well, the decision is yours and it will obviously be based on the satisfaction you feel in your present relationship. It’s just two things; either you are in a happy marriage/relationship or you are in an unhappy one.

Happy marriages and relationships are possible! It’s all in our hands…it’s all in the effort we put into it. You can’t get happiness in marriage unless you put in happiness. You can’t reap love in marriage unless you pour in love. Marriage is empty from start…what you get from it at the end of the day is what you invest in it.

You can sit all day and grumble all you want about not having a happy marriage/relationship…it won’t change anything until you start putting in the hard work. I know it’s a two-way street; it takes two to create a happy marriage/relationship. What if the other person is not playing their part? Well, that just makes your hard work harder. But if you would just sit down, study your partner, re-strategize and keep pouring in love, affection and respect in an all new way that meets their needs, you will win at the end. I bet nobody hates being loved and no matter how long, they will eventually respond to our love and love us back in equal measure.

Oh yes! I would propose to my wife over again! I would chose her again above all else! She’s an angel, just not an all-white one; she has her many dark spots. But I’m not looking for perfection…just someone who loves me in equal measure or even more; just someone who means well. And I know she means well…and that’s enough!

Woman: God’s great gift

Reading the creation story, one comes to realize that:

THE HIGHEST GOOD GOD THOUGHT OF FOR A MAN BESIDES HIMSELF IS A WOMAN.

A woman is thus very very good for a man…but, it is where purpose is not known that abuse becomes inevitable!

May our women look to God (their source) for their self-worth and not always run to man for validation.

Woman, know ye not that thou art worth much more than the value a man places on you?

We’re all a chain of blessings

You may see yourself as a failure because of that one thing that doesn’t seem to be going well but God looks at you and sees a champion…one without whose presence in this life many lives would not have been touched.

We are all a chain of blessings one way or the other. If it’s even just one person’s life you’ve touched, I bet that’s all God has need of you for.

It’s sad how many are disappointed with their life so bad they have stopped believing in God but if only God opens their eyes to see what an impact they have made in people’s lives…I don’t know what they will do.

Life’s got purpose for everyone. You don’t need to discover it before you can at least be certain you have made an impact. Whether we achieve all our earthly dreams or not before we die, truth is we have impacted lives! You may not know it now but you have! You really have!

Unity of Purpose

Happy marriages do not focus overly on the differences created by background or where the two people are coming from but on where the two are going…as committed couple. If the two people can be united in their vision and work towards it, nothing should be insurmountable. Vision, commitment and a solid sense of purpose is what drives happy marriages.
